Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani poked fun at their relationship in a new commercial for T-Mobile, which aired during a Super Bowl commercial break.
Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani poked fun at their relationship in a new commercial for T-Mobile, which aired during a Super Bowl commercial break on Sunday, February 7. Adam Levine from Maroon 5 also features.
The commercial provides a comical alternative explanation how Shelton and Stefani first stated dating more than five years. In it, Stefani is face-timing with Levine to discuss how she is ready to start dating again. She goes on to state, “Maybe someone from another country and someone cultured and sensitive and who is not threatened by strong, confident woman.”
Levine’s patchy mobile signal means the message is heard as, “I want someone completely country, uncultured and threatened by a strong confident woman.” To which he replies, “I have your guy.”
The ad then continues to the couple’s fictitious first date.

Shelton and Stefani first met on The Voice in 2014. The pair confirmed they were dating in November 2015 and got engaged in October last year. Stefani was previously married to Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale, while Shelton split from his second wife, Miranda Lambert in 2015.
Shelton recently released his current single, Minimum Wage, which follows back-to-back love duets with Stefani. Nobody But You and Happy Anyway both reached No. 1 on the US country airplay charts.
The Super Bowl broadcast is famously packed with star-studded adverts including Queen, Dolly Parton and The Beatles. Fellow country music artists Luke Bryan, Shania Twain and Chris Young also attended the the event, as shared on their respected social media accounts.
