Grammy-winning artist Billy Strings is heading to Australia and New Zealand for his debut headline tour dates Down Under this July.

A run of four arena shows to mark the occasion, the Leadfoot singer and pioneering bluegrass guitarist will begin the run at Melbourne’s Margaret Court Arena on Tuesday, 15 July, before heading to ICC Sydney Theatre on Thursday, 17 July, Brisbane’s Riverstage on Saturday, 19 July, and wrap up the tour in New Zealand at Auckland’s Spark Arena on Tuesday, 22 July. All shows will allow fans of all ages.

Fans can purchase tickets via an artist pre-sale on Billy Strings’ website/mailing list on Friday, 31 January, at 12 pm local time. The Frontier Touring pre-sale begins on the same day (and the same time), with a general sale opening on Monday, 3 February, at 12 pm local time. You can find tickets through the Frontier Touring website.

Last year, Strings released his critically acclaimed fourth album, Highway Prayers. Produced by Strings and Jon Brion (Fiona Apple, Mac Miller), the record debuted at #1 on Billboard’s all-genre Top Album Sales chart – the first time in 22 years that a bluegrass album was the top-selling album across genres.

Highway Prayers arrived after Strings’ live album, Live Vol. 1, released last July and nominated for Best Bluegrass Album at the upcoming Grammy Awards.

Strings arrives in Australia months after his collaborator, Luke Combs, finishes up his stadium tour Down Under, making him the first country artist to ever headline stadium shows—and sell them out—in Australia.

In 2021, Strings teamed up with Combs on the track The Great Divide.

Strings said about the track, “This song is our interpretation of the conflicts and tension we had been witnessing/experiencing around the time we wrote it. We wanted to shine a little light on the situation and offer a bit of hope during what has been a tough time for many.”
