Clear your Saturday plans. On March 7, the Plaza at Bunjil Place is turning into a full-blown country music haven as Andrew Swift headlines Week Five of the summer series program Open Space.

Running from 6.00pm to 9.00pm, the completely free family friendly event promises everything from heartfelt anthems to boot-stomping bangers, with no tickets, no gates and no barriers. Just show up, roll out a picnic rug, grab a bite from the food trucks (or BYO dinner), and settle in for a night of top-tier Australian country under the open sky.

The lineup is top notch. Kicking things off at 6.00pm is rising star Tegan Blackstock, whose warm vocals and originals like Forever Kinda Love and Highway are quickly earning her a loyal following.

At 7.00pm, Ethan Calway takes the stage, bringing raw vocals, electric guitar work and the kind of high energy presence that’s already drawing comparisons to a young Keith Urban.

Then at 8.00pm, it’s time for Swift. With four ARIA #1 albums, more than 8.4 million streams and multiple CMAA Golden Guitar Awards, including 2023 Male Artist of the Year, he’s carved out a serious legacy in Australian country. His latest album, Lucky Stars, blends gritty guitars with emotionally charged songwriting, and live, those songs hit even harder.

“I love shows like this,” Swift said. “Knowing anyone can come down and be part of it. That’s what country music’s about.”

Open Space runs across seven weeks from February 7 to March 21, delivering live music, cultural performances, open-air cinema and all totally free. But March 7? That’s the country night you don’t want to miss.
