Andrew Farriss is stepping back into the spotlight with a new solo release that leans into storytelling, reflection, and real life. The legendary songwriter and INXS co-founder has released his latest single, Mending Fences, co-written with acclaimed Americana artist Stephen Wilson Jr.

Written during time spent in Nashville, Mending Fences draws from Farriss’ deep connection to rural life and the rhythms of farming. Now based on a farm in New South Wales, Farriss splits his creative time between touring and working the land, and that balance is felt throughout the song. At its heart, the track is about resilience, hard work, and the emotional weight carried by people whose lives are shaped by the land.

“Mending Fences is a song I wrote with Stephen Wilson Jr. when I was spending time in Nashville. It touches on the hard life of farmers, their day-to-day routines, and some of the emotional issues they may face. It’s really a tribute to how much energy - physically and emotionally - the world’s farmers put into their craft in order to provide food and products for the entire world.”

The release follows a major milestone for Farriss in 2024, when he made his Grand Ole Opry debut. The appearance was made even more special with Keith Urban joining him as a surprise guest, reinforcing Farriss’ respected place within the global country and Americana scene.

Farriss first stepped out on his own in 2021 with his debut solo album, which delivered well-received singles including Come Midnight and Good Momma Bad. His song You Are My Rock charted on the US Billboard Indicator chart, while With The Kelly Gang earned a Golden Guitar nomination for Heritage Song of the Year, showing his ability to connect across both Australian and international audiences.

Looking ahead, Farriss is far from slowing down. His next full length album The Prospector, is set for release in 2026, with more new music to follow through a companion project titled Thunderbolt.

Of course, Farriss’ legacy stretches far beyond his solo work. As a founding member of INXS, he helped shape one of Australia’s most successful bands, selling more than 75 million records worldwide and collecting ARIA Awards, Grammy nominations, a BRIT Award, MTV Music Awards, and an induction into the ARIA Hall of Fame.

With Mending Fences, Farriss proves that great songwriting is rooted in experience, purpose, and stories worth telling.
