The ARIA Awards have wrapped up for another year with the likes of Troye Sivan and Royel Otis emerging as two of the big winners at the Australian music industry’s night of nights.
Taking place at the Hordern Pavilion in Sydney this evening (Wednesday, November 20th), the 38th annual ARIA Awards were the typically star-studded affair full of the glitz and glamour that the Australian music industry puts on display each and every year.
Of course, the attention of the wider world of music was put onto the big names up for awards this year, including the likes of Royel Otis, who entered the ring with eight nominations; Dom Dolla with six; and favourites such as Kylie Minogue and Angie McMahon with five each.
The big winner for the evening was undoubtedly Royel Otis who took out four awards, including Best Group and Best Rock Album, in addition to Chris Collins’ efforts for Best Engineered Release and Best Produced Release for PRATTS & PAIN.
Meanwhile, Troye Sivan also took out some of the bigger awards, walking away with Album of the Year and Best Pop Release for Something To Give Each Other in addition to Best Solo Artist.
The Michael Gudinski Breakthrough Artist award was given to Teen Jesus And The Jean Teasers, while Dom Dolla took out Best Dance/Electronic Release for Saving Up, and 3% took home Best Hip Hop/Rap Release for KILL THE DEAD.

While Tkay Maidza was awarded Best Soul/R&B Release for Sweet Justice, Angie McMahon's Light, Dark, Light Again was deemed Best Rock Album, while Emily Wurramara's NARA took out Best Adult Contemporary Album.
SPEED's Only One Mode gave the group the trophy for Best Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Album, while Troy Cassar-Daley and Mia Dyson took out Best Country Album and Best Blues & Roots Album, respectively.
In the public-voted awards, Tones And I's Dance With Me was named Best Video, G Flip's The Worst Person Alive was dubbed Song Of The Year, Missy Higgins was named Best Australian Live Act alongside her induction into the ARIA Hall Of Fame, and Taylor Swift was honoured with the title of Most Popular International Artist.
The event also featured the standard roster of performances, including The Kid LAROI and Ava Max, who were on hand as per previously-announced appearances. The most surprising addition, however, was that of the Pixies, who shared an exclusive rendition of Where Is My Mind in celebration of Support Act and Ausmusic T-Shirt Day.
“All of us at ARIA are so proud of this genuinely global-facing industry that proved tonight exactly how much Australia has to be proud of when it comes to home grown music,” said ARIA CEO, Annabelle Herd, in a statement. “I’m beyond excited for the future of Australian music after seeing the incredible talent of the winners, performers, and nominees at this year’s Awards.
“Thank you to YouTube, DNSW, all of our partners, and the incredible ARIAs team, especially broadcast EP Craig Campbell and Event Producer Brendan Maher. Here’s to another incredible year of Ausmusic in 2025!”
