Brisbane alt-country band Good Will Remedy have won a major award on the back of their single Messin With My Head, taking home the trophy for Best Music Video at this year’s Cannes World Art Festival.
It marks the third award earned for the clip – directed by Daisy Hill filmmaker Hayden Lowry and released in November of 2021 – following a win for the same award at the 2023 Way Of The Art Film Festival, and Best Australian Music Video at last year’s Malabar Music Festival. To date, it’s also been shown at and/or made a finalist or semi-finalist at 16 other events, including the Paris Awards Film Festival, Sydney World Fest and the Lonely Wolf International Film Festival in London.

As for Good Will Remedy, the band have kept mighty in 2023 with the release of five standalone singles: Jay in March, May Day in April, Bleed in June, Holdin Up in August, and A Flower And A Note in September. A sixth single, Sunshine State, will be released this Friday (November 10).
The one-off tracks follow up on Good Will Remedy’s fourth studio album, Same Old Crows..., which arrived in April of 2022 and featured Messin With My Head (which itself includes a guest spot from singer Viliani) as its third single.
