Two of Australasia’s most compelling emerging voices — Oscar LaDell and Wilson Blackley — are joining forces for a six-date tour across Australia, bringing together their shared love of soul, blues and songwriting for an unforgettable live experience.
Born in the US and raised in Purakaunui, New Zealand, Oscar LaDell is a genre-blurring soul and blues artist whose voice carries the grit of tradition and the urgency of modern heartache. His latest EP No Blue, recorded in Castlemaine (Dja Dja Wurrung Country), is his most honest and affecting work to date — co-produced with Wilson Blackley and featuring co-written standouts like “Hurts The Same” and “Dream of You.”
Wilson Blackley, based in Naarm/Melbourne, is quickly emerging as one of Australia’s most exciting young producer-artists. His debut EP Material Plane Part 1, produced by acclaimed collaborator Sensible J (Sampa The Great, REMI, Immy Owusu), blends intimate songwriting with boundary-pushing production. As well as Blackley’s debut single being co-produced by Sam Teskey (The Teskey Brothers). Having shared festival stages with the likes of The Teskey Brothers and Boy & Bear, Wilson’s star is fast on the rise — and his creative chemistry with LaDell is electric.
Together, Oscar and Wilson create a live show rich in soul, stripped-back honesty, and collaborative magic. This tour is not just a showcase of their individual talents, but a celebration of the powerful creative partnership that birthed ‘
No Blue
’ and the flurry of new songs to be released respectively.
