What?

To mark the release of her brand new EP ‘Reach and touch the Road’, Megan Kennedy willbe performing live with her band at the Bergy Bandroom, Saturday August 9thwith support from Aunty Blue, Marigolden and Oliver Jach.  Honing her own unique blend of fingerstyle folk and melodic indie pop, Megan has crafted arepertoire of contemplative songs laced with her signature breezy vocals and intricate guitararrangements. Often described as ‘road songs’ her lyrics tend to slip across time and place, capturing the everyday, the existential and things caught between.

In 2023, Megan released her debut single ‘Time Machines’, a sun-drenched ballad that hasbeen described as melodically deft and disarmingly charming. In early 2025 Megan releasedthe first track from her Debut EP ‘Can’t Catch the Night’ alongside a brand new film clip. Asone of the punchier tracks off the EP, ‘Can’t Catch the Night’ distinguishes itself through itsbold rhythm and slide guitar solo. The second track ‘Vesuvius’, a soaring ode to thevolcanologists Katia and Maurice Krafft, only served to further build anticipation for the fullEP release this coming August 2025.Aunty Blue have entered Naarm’s music scene like the family band you always wish youhad, with hearts wide open and guitars in hand, quickly becoming a beloved live act. Theirfolk-rock sound – crafted in loungerooms and garages – feels like a warm hug from yourneighbour (the one with the Maltese poodle and great advice). Their latest singles “Keep It”and “Bond Girl”, reflect a band evolving in sound and confidence. Aunty Blue carries the rawcharm of something still unfolding – a warmth and soul that feels timeless.Marigolden – an accurate moniker for Melbourne-based (Wurundjeri Country) artist MelO’Neill – fills the room with a mixture of gentle folk and indie-rock. Following greatacknowledgement from her previous releases, marigolden has found her way into editorialplaylisting with Apple Music, MTV, and plays on Triple J, Double J, RRR and more.Premiering her most recent single music video ‘Mars’ on Pilerats, and supporting artists likeBob Evans and Adam Newling, marigolden is solidifying her spot within the indie-rock andfolk landscape.Oliver Jach has released two solo LPs and three EPs with his indie rock band The Fainters. In solo mode he plays piano and sings, taking inspiration from singer-songwriter classicssuch as Jackson Browne, Carole King and Neil Young.
