Don’t we all love the feeling of comfort when we’re around someone we love? That’s the emotion Townsville-based country musician Tammy Moxon has explored on her new single, Comfy. Countrytown is exclusively premiering the music video today, which you can watch below.
In the video, Moxon plays the guitar as her band plays instruments behind her, children play the violin, and a community gathers and dances to her song. With some traditional country twang and the joy of family and community, Moxon’s latest single shows her “finding the strength I never knew I had”.
It’s a charming video about “the best thing that’s ever happened to me” without being too cheesy or falling into cliches – it’s just lovely.
The Comfy music video was filmed by Justin Reid over three days at Rollingstone Park in Queensland. Moxon said, “The park let us use different locations on their land to film four music videos over three days. The extras partying in the video were friends and family who just wanted to support my venture.”
“You’re home to me every day, every hour, every minute/Life is comfy when you’re in it,” she effortlessly sings over the mid-tempo melody, and you completely believe in her authenticity.
“It was the first song I wrote in that three months of the initial pandemic shutdown,” Moxon revealed in a statement. “I was determined to write a happy love song.”

She added, “The definition of ‘Comfy’, according to me – is the state of contentment in a relationship. Knowing, without a doubt, that your partner is right for you. Feeling like you can be yourself in his presence and still get butterflies.”
The Covid-19 pandemic delayed recording for the singer, but now we finally get to hear Comfy, following her previously released single, Fighting Chance. Comfy was recorded at multi-award-winning Shane Nicholson’s studio, the Sound Hole, with Nicholson as the producer. “This song made me happy when I heard the first mix,” Moxon mused.
Tammy Moxon has opened for Australian country greats, including Felicity Urquhart, Drew McAlister, The Bushwackers and Lee Kernaghan. This year, she will appear at the following festivals: Birdsville Races Weekend, William Creek Outback Fly, Rollingstone Festival of Cool and Airlie Beach Festival.
In 2021, Moxon told Countrytown about the album that changed her life. You can find out what album she chose here.
