Rising country star Sarah Catania has just unveiled the fun-loving music video for her latest single, Once You’ve Gone Country, premiering exclusively on Countrytown today.
The clip goes from the corporate nightmare of nine-to-five work, capturing the Monday blues of working a day job before entering a honky tonk bar, complete with line dancing.
“Once you’ve gone country/ There’s no going back,” Catania sings, as she pleads for outlaw songs and honky tonks after an energetic guitar solo.
Once You’ve Gone Country was released last week (21 August), and the music video is a stunning accompaniment.
In a statement, the Melbourne-based singer-songwriter said, “Filming the music video for Once You’ve Gone Country was probably one of the funnest experiences of my life. We had the amazing Jeremy Minett from Eyes & Ears Creative behind the camera, and he was a dream to work with.”
Catania continued, “I was also so incredibly blessed to have the amazing dancers from Buckle Bunny Line Dancing choreograph a line-dance for the video, which is now the official dance of the song.
“It was a 4 am wake-up call, then we headed to the Noojee Pub to meet everyone. With the energy in the room, you would have had no idea how early in the morning it was. We headed to Melbourne City after the Nooj, to showcase the two lives I live, connecting as one. There was a lot of McDonald’s consumed, lots of laughs, and so many great friendships formed.”

Upon releasing the single last week, Catania explained of its origins, “Once You’ve Gone Country, while upbeat and fun, really did start as an idea from a deeper place. It’s about being an unapologetic city girl that loves the country lifestyle.
“Whether it be the music, the honky-tonks, or the living, Once You’ve Gone Country is a track that welcomes everyone into the country space, whether they were born into it or not. It’s a song about acceptance and putting differences aside to have a damn good time.”
Since releasing her debut single, Venus and Mars, in 2022, Catania has enjoyed steady momentum. She’s played more than 300 shows across Australia, including acclaimed events like the Tamworth Country Music Festival and the Gympie Music Muster.
Catania earned her breakthrough with her fifth single, Front Row, earning full rotation on Triple M Country and support from ABC Country among other radio stations. She gained more fans with the release of the tracks Goodbye and First Times, with the latter entering the Countrytown Hot 50.
In 2024, Catania was a top-three finalist in the Gympie Music Muster Mothertone Talent Search and placed in the top 10 of the 2023 KIX Start competition. Additionally, she’s a graduate of the CMAA Academy of Country Music and has shared the stage with Wade Forster, Amber Lawrence, Andrew Swift, and many others.
