Rising Australian country artist Sammi Palinkas is ready to make a bold statement with her latest single What This Woman Wants. The high-energy anthem is a powerful declaration of self-worth, encouraging women to embrace their value and refuse to settle for anything less than they deserve. Co-written with award-winning producer Rod McCormack (Lee Kernaghan, The Wolfe Brothers) and Emmy-nominated Nashville songwriter Joie Scott (Shania Twain), the track blends fiery vocals with a modern country sound that radiates confidence and strength.

With influences drawn from Shania Twain’s empowering Any Man of Mine and the bold fun of Best Worst Ex by Alexandra Kay and Julia Cole, What This Woman Wants also delivers a message of empowerment. One of the standout lines in the chorus, “If you can’t bring the heat, then get out of the kitchen,” cleverly reimagines the traditional homemaker stereotype. It challenges old expectations and redefines what women now demand from their relationships—balance, respect, and equality.

This single serves as the first preview of Palinkas’ upcoming debut album, No Settlin', a 15-track project set to drop in mid-2025. Reflecting on the past five years of her career and personal growth, the album will explore themes of resilience, love, and self-discovery. What This Woman Wants has been strategically released ahead of International Women’s Day 2025.

Accompanying the release is a visually striking music video directed by Bonnie Jarrett of BonnCreative. Filmed at Co.Bake Studios in Melbourne, the video features Palinkas as a cooking show host caught in a hilarious plot twist when she accidentally eliminates her overconfident co-host.

Palinkas explains “Bonnie and I had so much fun bringing this crazy storyline to life. Early last year, people kept telling me I looked like Western Barbie, so I decided to have some fun with that in the visual campaign for my album. In my determination not to become just another blonde country singer, we took that colourful persona and blended it with sharp, playful commentary on women in the industry.”

Palinkas has already made a significant impact on Australia’s country music scene. Her debut single "Meet in the Middle" reached #3 on the Australian iTunes Country chart, with subsequent hits like “You’ve Lived” and “Let Your Hair Down” also securing Top 10 spots. Recognized by prestigious organizations like NSAI and the International Songwriting Competition and collaborating with songwriters from Los Angeles, New York and Nashville, Palinkas continues to rise as one of the brightest new voices in country music.
