"I knew from the moment we wrote Dust that it needed to have an epic, action-packed music video to go with it; after all, it’s about taking the bull by the horns..."

Melanie Dyer’s latest music video, Dust, premiering on Countrytown today, is one of her most commanding tracks to date.
With her signature country twang and pop-rock feel, Dyer sings on the brilliant Mundi Mundi Plains while she was there for the Mundi Mundi Big Bash. Taking the “bull by the horns”, as she sings in the chorus, an actual bull and rodeo riders appear in the music video, which you can watch below.
Dust was produced by Rod McCormack and Gavin Carfoot. She said about the new single, “Dust is a high-energy call-to-action to take the bull by the horns and ride the highs of life. I hope that when people turn it up on the radio, stream it or hear it live, they get a rush of confidence to keep moving forward and never settle for less.”
The music video for Dust arrived after Dyer’s appearance at the CMA Festival alongside the likes of Jason Aldean, Miranda Lambert, Dan + Shay and many more. Today’s premiere of the Dust music video is even sweeter, as the song debuted at #32 on the Countrytown National Airplay Chart last week. With a clip in tow, who knows how much further Dyer will rise?
“I knew from the moment we wrote Dust that it needed to have an epic, action-packed music video to go with it; after all, it’s about taking the bull by the horns,” Dyer explained about the music video in a press release. Sharing that she co-produced the music video with director Jackson James, Dyer continued:
“We shot the music video in 3 epic locations over three different sunsets, including some brilliant scenes out on the Mundi Mundi plains while I was out there playing the Mundi Mundi Bash. The video follows the story of a little cowboy played by Jack Felton (just four years old), who is an aspiring professional bull rider that looks up to the older cowboys who are riding for the prize.

“In real life, Jack is the son of an incredible couple, Jackson and Janaya, who run J & J Rodeo and who hosted the event we filmed at in Grafton, NSW. This is Jack’s actual dream, and he’s living it.”
