Katie Jayne has shared the music video for her energetic new single, I Don’t Get Mad, I Get Even, which premieres exclusively on Countrytown today.
Walking throughout her hometown—in front of houses, through a car park, and on a track, Jayne is assertive and confident in reclaiming her sense of self in the attitude-laden film clip for I Don’t Get Mad, I Get Even.
The music video showcases Jayne’s empowering energy. It aligns with the speedy instrumental that highlights guitar, violin, and banjo, her bright vocals, and, of course, the messaging.
In the music video, Jayne uses the landscape of her country town as her own personal playground to deliver the personal fun that makes up the track.
Jayne said of the thrilling music video, “Filming this was so funny because we were in locations where the locals would be driving past and just staring at us wondering what on earth we are up to! I’ve had comments on social media when we started rolling out the project where people have commented, ‘Hey! That’s my house!’”
Discussing the addition of lyrics within the music video, Jayne added, “The song is so quick that it’s almost blink and you’ll miss it lyrically. We’re really telling a story here, but it might take a bit of practice to sing along to!”

I Don’t Get Mad, I Get Even was written by Jayne and Troy Kemp and produced by Jared Adlam. She also enlisted Tim Crouch on fiddle and mandolin, and Reece Baines on drums.
Jayne previously said of the sassy empowerment anthem: “I love the energy in this song. The room felt electric when we wrote this, and that same energy was expertly captured in the studio with Jared. It’s the sequel to Carrie Underwood’s Before He Cheats. He should have listened to her song first!”
Katie Jayne has a few live shows lined up for the rest of the year before we enter 2025. You can find them below and support her here.
