Claudia TrippClaudia Tripp has unveiled the music video for her latest single, the country-rock banger, High Stakes.
Premiering exclusively on Countrytown, the clip finds Tripp singing in front of a pool table, in a bar, and outside, by the mountains.
It’s beautifully filmed, with blues and reds contrasting with her bright purple hair, black dress and black cowboy hat. The video, shot, directed and produced by Jake Davey, is just as energetic and fun as the song itself.
With High Stakes, Tripp outlines her penchant for infectious hooks, while also showcasing her soaring vocal performance and honest lyricism. It’s extra sweet, seeing as she recently married her wife, Sophie.
In a statement, Tripp told Countrytown of the new video, “My goal with the High Stakes music video was to capture the way this song makes me feel. It’s a song about taking a gamble on love, and in my head, it always belonged in a country bar, surrounded by neon lights, pool tables and poker chips.”

She continued, “Jake Davey absolutely smashed it out of the park, just like he has with the last two music videos we’ve created together. He found the perfect backdrop at Full Throttle Ranch in beautiful New South Wales, with all the country charm I had imagined, along with a few shots sprinkled in from the Hunter Valley after sunset.
“I genuinely couldn’t be more excited for you all to see this one.”
Davey added, “Working with Claudia is always a damn good time; we had a blast creating the visuals for High Stakes at Full Throttle Ranch! The perfect canvas to showcase her gritty, edgy country rock track.”

High Stakes was released last Friday (14 August). Written by Tripp, Lydia Sutherland and Aaron Pollock, the track was produced by the award-winning production team of Michael DeLorenzis and Michael Paynter (MSquared).
The music video for High Stakes arrives following an incredible run of achievements for Tripp, including performances at last year’s Strummingbird Festival and at Optus Stadium ahead of the AFL Grand Final.
Additionally, she’s shared the stage with the likes of Thirsty Merc, Travis Collins, Casey Barnes and Andrew Farriss. Next week, Tripp performs at the Gympie Music Muster.
