Andrew FarrissAndrew Farriss, the legendary songwriter and co-founder of INXS has just unveiled the music video for his brand new single Mending Fences, a country rock collaboration with acclaimed Americana artist Stephen Wilson Jr. It’s the latest glimpse into Farriss’ evolving solo chapter, one that feels grounded, reflective and deeply personal.
Written while Farriss was spending time in Nashville, Mending Fences blends storytelling grit with warm, rootsy instrumentation which is a natural extension of the life he now leads on his New South Wales farm, where songwriting fits in between touring and family life.
“Mending Fences is a song I wrote with Stephen Wilson Jr. when I was spending time in Nashville. It touches on the hard life of farmers, their day-to-day routines, and some of the emotional issues they may face. It’s really a tribute to how much energy - physically and emotionally - the world’s farmers put into their craft in order to provide food and products for the entire world.” says Farriss
The video leans into that same spirit, capturing the physical labour and quiet resilience that define rural life.
The release follows a milestone few artists ever tick off: in 2024, Farriss made his debut at the iconic Grand Ole Opry, with superstar Keith Urban appearing as a surprise special guest during his performance. For a songwriter who helped sell over 75 million records worldwide with INXS, it marked a defining moment in his country leaning solo journey.
