At CMC Rocks QLD back in March, we caught up with Tasmanian duo, The Wolfe Brothers to talk about the multi-day festival, sea shanties, shoeys and their new album Livin’ The Dream.

Out today, their highly anticipated sixth album release was written during the pandemic over many Zoom writing sessions with writers all over the world. The album was co-produced by Nick Wolfe and veteran Australian record producer and musician Rod McCormack. Multi-award-winning producer Matt Fell was also involved in producing 3 of the 12 songs on the disc.

Talking about the album at CMC Rocks, bassist Tom Wolfe revealed, “We’ve sort of gone back to a bit more of a country rock sound, which is something we both really wanted to do. I think there’s some of the best stuff we’ve ever written on it, I really do. I think country music you need a bit of age maybe and life experience to write about stuff, so I feel really confident about the songs.”

The interview ends with a hilarious game of yeah, nah or nah, yeah. Watch the video below!

The album contains the title track, released in October 2022. It peaked at #1 on the Countrytown Hot 50 Airplay Chart. The follow up single, Here’s To The Ones, released in February 2023, also went to #1. The song is both special and personal to brothers Nick and Tom who lost their mum in 2022.

It has been an amazing 10-year ride for The Wolfe Brothers. Three #1 and two #2 ARIA Country Albums up until now. 18 #1 singles on the National Radio Chart. Six Golden Guitars under the belt so far making them the most awarded country rock duo ever in Australia. They have travelled countless road miles doing shows around Australia, USA and Canada and a bunch of new tour dates will be announced next week.

As they move into the 11th year since coming second on Australia’s Got Talent and the release of their first album, It’s On, the future is looking bright for the brothers from Tasmania. There is no doubt that the former postman (Nick) and carpenter (Tom) are definitely Livin’ The Dream.
