Eager to experience Australian culture and how the fans react to his music first hand "I've been wanting to come for a long time," he says. "It's been a dream of mine for a while." He recalls a time not long ago when selling 20 tickets in Tennessee seemed like a challenge. "It blows my mind to be able to go anywhere and play live shows."
Despite never being to Australia himself, Redferrin does have some Aussie friends who have already hazed him on some of our traditions like trying the iconic Tim Tam Slam and Vegemite which, he admits is growing on him.
But there’s one thing he still can’t wait to do: see a kangaroo in the wild. "I’ve seen them at Kentucky Down Under, but I want to see one doing its thing or something. And maybe a koala - those things are cute!"
With a busy tour schedule set for Australia including headlining shows and appearances at Meatstock in Toowoomba and Bendigo, when asked if he will stick to a set list, Redferrin laughs, revealing that he tends to write his setlists only an hour before going on stage. “I try to keep it fresh,” he explains, adding that switching up a couple of songs can help maintain energy for both the band and the audience.
Redferrin embraces spontaneity on stage and wants to keep things exciting for himself, the band, and the fans. "If you come to more than one show, you’ll probably hear a different setlist," he says with a grin.
A key part of Redferrin’s success is his ability to write songs that resonate with people. Reflecting on his early songwriting days, saying it was both a way to process his emotions and a way to connect with others. "I like to sing, but if I had to pick one, I’d write," he says. "Songwriting allows me to tell stories and share experiences, whether they’re good or bad."

When it comes to his favourite song, Redferrin points to Down Home Dreams a song he wrote after losing his mother to cancer. "I didn’t play it live for months after I wrote it—it was just too personal," he shares. "It’s the one song that will always be my favourite. It just fell out in 20 minutes."
Another standout is She’s Like Whiskey, a song about his old dog. "We were at Jack Daniel’s distillery, and she got sick while we were there. It was our last night with her, and we ended up writing that song while drinking Jack and giving her treats." He described the experience of writing that as being raw but a cathartic process.
New music is on the very near horizon with Redferrin’s sophomore EP Some City, Somewhere set to drop tomorrow on February 28, He’s already been road-testing some of the new tracks "It helped me figure out which songs resonated the most and which ones felt the most ‘me’". One of the fan favourites Chase My Whiskey was written on a tour bus in Montana and performed live just hours later. "It was exciting to see how people responded to it live," Redferrin recalls.
As an emerging artist, Redferrin understands that fans may still be getting familiar with his music, so he chooses to embrace the journey, knowing that the energy at every live show will help to create a deeper connection with his audience.
As Redferrin continues to take the country music world by storm, his passion for live performances, authentic songwriting, and connecting with fans remains at the core of everything he does. Whether it's his upcoming tour of Australia, his Opry debut, or his upcoming EP, there's no doubt that Redferrin’s star is on the rise.
Fans in Australia are in for a treat when he brings his energy, music, and down-to-earth vibe to their shores. One thing's for sure Redferrin is a name to remember.
