Back in August, country-pop singer-songwriter, Caitlyn Shadbolt, dropped her first solo release in two years. Titled Lost On Me, it was also the first song to be lifted from her forthcoming third album.

Penned by Caitlyn and Melanie Dyer and co-produced with Caitlyn’s partner Matt Smith at Fireside Studios, Lost On Me was mixed by Grammy nominated mix engineer Justin Cortelyou in Nashville.

Caitlyn explained the sentiment behind the song saying, “It was kind of ironic producing this song about my partner, with my partner. Especially because the whole song basically says, ‘don’t forget I’m grateful for you and I love you even though I’m yelling at you right now’ haha!”

The accompanying music video, which today premieres exclusively on Countrytown, was filmed at Fireside Studios by Leeroy Todd and produced by Alexander Lu.

Caitlyn adds, “I recorded this song and shot the video with Matt Smith at our new home studio – it was a wonderful, challenging, funny, heart-warming and don't-throw-tambourine-at-boyfriend experience – I’m so happy to be able to share it!”

Earlier this year, Caitlyn collaborated with Melanie Dyer on Dumb Decisions – a song that was waiting to be written after the pair had accumulated endless tour stories together. The song found its way in to the top 10 of Countrytown Hot 50 Country Airplay Chart as well as multiple streaming playlists. The duo wrapped up the Dumb Decisions tour this past weekend.

Caitlyn will continue to produce her new album with Smith in their newly built recording studio. The upcoming project will follow her previous album, Stages, released in 2020, which produced the singles Edge of the Earth, Oxygen, Two Lost Lovers, Porcelain, and Bones.

Before that, Caitlyn released her 2017 debut album Songs On My Sleeve, which hit #1 on the ARIA Country Album Chart, and her 2015 six-track self-titled EP. She also took home the fan voted ‘New Oz Artist’ at the CMC Awards in 2016.

Caitlyn joins the Big Red Bash, Mundi Mundi Bash and CMC Rocks QLD line-ups in 2023.
