Our ‘Centre Stage’ artist of the week, Amber Lawrence drops her highly anticipated seventh album, Living for the Highlights on July 22. The 12-track LP includes her singles I'm Coming Home, Bring It Back, Making Up For Lost Wine and the new title track collaboration with the 2022 Golden Guitar ‘New Talent of the Year’ award-winners Darlinghurst, which we exclusively premiere for you today. It's our Song of the Day!

Written by Amber with Alex Mather and Vlado Saric, Living for the Highlights was inspired by making brand new adult friends when Amber’s son, Ike started school. For three minutes, you drift off into the glow of new friendships and ignore the daily demands of being a grown up. It orders you to live for the moment, strive for greatness and buy that lotto ticket... just in case.

Darlinghurst said, "We're super excited to announce that we have collaborated with Amber Lawrence... It was a real joy and pleasure working with Amber on this recording."

Whilst addressing the challenges of the last few years, the album is the perfect combination of fun and upbeat party songs, mixed with delicate and poignant tributes and love letters. It reflects on good times - and not so good times - and provides an aspirational vision for the future. From the delicate and vulnerable lyrics of The Crash and You Were Mine, through the touching tributes of Jewel and I’m Coming Home, to the exciting and dance-inducing tracks Bring it Back, Fill it Up, Living for the Highlights, Sing and Making up for Lost Wine - Living for the Highlights has it all.

The album also features co-writes with the fellow artists Travis Collins, Matt Scullion, Lyn Bowtell, Melanie Dyer and Katrina Burgoyne as well as a powerhouse duet with Casey Donovan.

An insightful and truthful songwriter, and powerful performer, Amber’s new album showcases contemporary country at its finest. Raw and gritty at times, hopeful and happy at others, it is a realistic take on life after three years of highs and lows, following the release of her much loved sixth studio album Spark, which peaked at #1 on the Country Albums chart.
