'Label Me A Killer' is out now!
Multi-award-winning country singer-songwriter and guitarist, Brisbane-based Billie Rose has been creating her own niche country sound with songs that reveal a sincerity and depth well beyond her age, as evident in her latest country pop single, Label Me A Killer.
The inspiration behind Label Me A Killer was drawn from a previous long-term relationship of Billie's. Overcome with emotions and anger, she did as any singer-songwriter would do and wrote about it. In just two hours, with the help of her mum and family friend Peta Richards (musician), the song had been written.
The track was recorded, produced and mixed at Garret Kato's studio at Ocean Shores, just outside of Byron Bay, and was later mastered by Ben Feggans.
Billie says, "I went through so many different emotions during the breakup, I really embraced the anger I had felt when writing this one. I imagine it being one of those songs you hear girls singing along to at the top of their lungs, expressing their own feelings – a song that can easily be related to."
The accompanying music video, which today exclusively premieres on Countrytown, was directed by Tristan Solar-Young and stars actors Caitlin Prichett and Jack Duryea.
