Kaylee Bell’s latest single, Ring On It, was born out of a spontaneous moment during a songwriting session in New York.

"It started as a joke," Bell reveals. "I was just humming a little hook while we were literally packing up our bags after writing another song. Zach Zadek, one of the guys I was writing with, heard it and said, 'What’s that?' I just shrugged and said it was a silly idea. But he insisted we write it, so we did, in about half an hour."

Despite its humble beginnings, the song quickly became something special. "I hid that song from my partner for about six months before I played it to him," Bell laughs. "He told me I should record it, and now, here we are with it as a single!"

Ring On It is a fun, bold track with a cheeky message. Bell explains, "It’s kind of as subtle as a brick to the face, especially for people who might need a little nudge to put a ring on their girlfriend’s finger. But it was written with all love and fun in mind."

With Ring On It and her previous single Cowboy Up, Bell has fully embraced an upbeat, anthemic sound. When asked about the direction of her recent music, she says, "I’ve always been a huge Shania Twain fan. I love how she mixes playfulness and anthem-like energy in her songs. I want my music to have that same feel. Something that sounds amazing in a stadium. The last few singles have been really fun to write and perform, and I think that’s the direction I’m loving right now."

But it's not all about high-energy tracks. Bell has also written more emotional songs inspired by her journey as a new mum. "I’ve written a song for my little one, and it's really special to me. It’s definitely a bit emotional, but I think it’s important to have that vulnerability mixed in with the fun tracks," she shares.

Balancing motherhood and a successful career is no easy feat, but Bell is managing it with grace. "I’m so lucky because my partner tours with me, so we can bring the little man along. He’s already done CMC Rocks with us, and he’ll be with us when we head to Nashville in June. It’s important to me to normalize having a family while pursuing a music career, especially for women in the industry," she says.

As for how she’s planning her year with a baby in tow, Bell laughs, "We’re taking it as it comes. Some shows, like in the UK, might be a little tricky, but so far, he has been a great traveller, and we’ve had a lot of support from our families. It’s definitely going to be an adventure, but we’re lucky to be doing it together."

Fans are in for an exciting year, with a huge tour coming at the end of 2025. "We’re going to be all over Australia and New Zealand; I love bringing the music to those fans who are passionate about country music," she says. "We’ll hit the major cities, but also we’ll be playing a lot of festivals in the middle of nowhere too, so there’s a lot of dates coming, and we’ll be seeing a lot more of Australia at the end of the year, which is super, super cool.”

A full-length studio album will also be released in 2025 to accompany her extensive tour. Working with Tom Jordan, formerly from Australian country duo Seaforth, as the producer on the new record, Bell says, "Tom’s been amazing. He came out to New Zealand to work with me, and it was one of the best experiences I’ve had. We got to collaborate in a really hands-on way, and I feel so proud of the record we’ve made together. I’m excited for everyone to hear it."

Her fans are sure to be in for a treat as Bell continues to grow and evolve as an artist. With a massive tour on the horizon, new music on the way, and a growing family to balance, there’s no stopping Kaylee Bell.
