Friends With The Bottle by Sammy White – Video Premiere

Queensland singer-songwriter, Sammy White released her new single, Friends With The Bottle last week – and Countrytown has your first look at the accompanying music video (where you might just recognise some familiar faces!) in this exclusive premiere. It’s our Song of the Day!

The feel-good tune was co-written with Melanie Dyer over zoom and produced by ARIA Award winning Matt Fell. It’s a shed party, Saturday night hangout, drinks with the girls and live your best life kind of song.

Sammy says, "We all enjoy a fun night out with a couple of bevvies. Friends With The Bottle is about living it up in the moment, despite the ugly hangover the next day."

Following the unpredictable years since winning the 2020 Toyota Star Maker, Sammy faced the challenge and was recently rewarded with a nomination in the ‘New Talent of the Year’ in the Toyota 50th Golden Guitar Awards to be held at the Toyota 50th Tamworth Country Music Festival in April for her song Running Away Tonight.

The track was her first delivery since her Top 10 ARIA debut album Undone, which included the singles Drowning My Sorrows, I Can’t Outrun You, Lay It On Me and Home (Feels Like You). Upon its release in November 2020, Undone hit #6 on ARIA Australian Country Albums Chart and #20 on ARIA Top Country Albums Chart, quickly gaining the young artist positive attention.

Sammy has racked up nearly 70,000kms in her Toyota Star Maker “Star Car” performing at festivals, opening shows for Aussie artists, touring regional Queensland with Brooke Schubert and supporting a 33-date sold out tour from Cairns to Canberra with Brad Cox.
