Three of Australia’s most adorable couples in country music—Brooke McClymont and Adam Eckersley, Felicity Urquhart and Josh Cunningham, and Jay and Mark O’Shea—are joining forces for a run of shows called Country Love next month.

Performing two dates in New South Wales and one in Queensland, it’s a short and sweet tour that’s also a one-of-a-kind musical event.

Country Love: The Ultimate Date Night is set to find the trio of duos offering talent, great songs, romance, and entertainment. Collectively, the couples have amassed 36 Golden Guitar Awards, ten ARIA Awards and nominations, 126 guitars, and six children.

The concerts will also be unique interactive events, with hit songs performed from each couple’s catalogue, live games and audience participation. The Country Love run promises three nights of “unrehearsed hilarity and unforgettable memories.”

To celebrate the impending tour, Countrytown caught up with each couple and gathered the songs that would feature in their Ultimate Date Night Playlist. Each couple discussed the special meaning of the selected songs. A playlist of the tracks is linked below.

How Sweet It Is - James Taylor

We chose this song as one of our wedding songs. We think it was when the ceremony was over and we were hugging all our guests. We just thought it was an uplifting song and represented us to a T, and it still stands up today. We are very lucky to still love each other, hahaha.

Happy People - Little Big Town

This perfectly sums up the pair of us. Haha, every time this song comes on, it instantly makes us happy. Everything about this track is so good. The original version from Hayley Witters (she co-wrote it) is also incredible.

Feel Like Makin’ Love - Bad Company

We’ve been playing this song just before our gigs every weekend, and it’s just such a punchy, sexy song. It gets the crowd pumped and us as well, and what a voice Paul Rodgers has!

Home - Michael Bublé

The first time we hooked up was in the back of Adam’s van, and Michael Bublé was swooning us with this killer song. Every time we hear this song, we giggle, and it reminds us of that very day……. Hahaha!

I Found Love (When I Found You) - Kenny Wayne Shepherd

Gosh, talk about going down memory lane. Haha, this song was also played at our wedding while we signed the register. The lyrics and guitar on this track are bloody amazing, and we still crank this song up in the car.

If Tomorrow Never Comes - Garth Brooks

Mark serenaded me with this on the stairs outside his bedroom in Balmain (while I slept in his bed because I was sick). It made me fall in love with him. Awwwwww!!!

Something To Talk About - Bonnie Raitt

I sang this at the Karaoke night I used to host (100 years ago), at The Balmain Town Hall Hotel - the night we first met. I think that hooked him!

Dancing In The Minefields - Andrew Peterson

We covered this song on one of our own records because we completely fell in love with it. We heard it on a local radio station while driving through corn fields in Indiana, and it stopped us in our tracks. It was one of the most beautiful love songs we’d ever heard.

Crying - Roy Orbison

We sang this on CMT USA’s TV show Can You Duet to judges Naomi Judd, Scott Borchetta & Big Kenny. It was our best night on the show and a good memory.

God Only Knows - The Beach Boys

Okay, so this isn’t country, but this was our first dance at our wedding 20 years ago. It sums it up!

Let Me Touch You For Awhile - Alison Krauss and The Union Station

Sensual bluegrass music on how to get over heartbreak. Robert Lee Castleman is such a fine songwriter, and I go to write a couple of songs with him. It was an incredible experience.

Love’s Gonna Live Here - Buck Owens

A perfect expression of optimism and hope with just the right dose of twang.

Nothing - The Bros Landreth

It’s honey for your ears. Soooo Good.

Behind Closed Doors - Charlie Rich

Even when you want the world to know you’re in love the things that go on behind closed doors are sacred and secret.

Heavenly Day - Patty Griffin

Apparently, Patty wrote this about her dog. It totally rings true for that perfect day of love and contentment with the one you love.
