Brendan McMahon is set to release his latest single, Let’s Get Crazy, a track that blends classic rock influences with contemporary country elements. Inspired by Led Zeppelin’s Black Dog, McMahon reimagined its riff into a country anthem that captures the raw energy of rock while staying true to his country roots.

The song was co-written with Felicity Urquhart during a songwriter’s retreat at The Dag Sheep Station in Nundle, New South Wales, and features a collaboration with Sally Jane, a talented vocalist he met during a songwriting session at the Tamworth Country Music Festival.

“Great things seem to happen to me in the pub,” McMahon jokes, reflecting on his serendipitous encounters that led to this collaboration. Jane's distinctive voice adds a dynamic layer to the track, enhancing its appeal.

In late 2024, McMahon returned to Soggy Dog Recording Studio in Upwey, Victoria, to track songs for his eighth solo album. As soon as they worked on Let’s Get Crazy, it became clear that the song would benefit from a vocal collaboration. McMahon had met Jane at The Dag Sheep Station around the end of 2021, and their paths crossed again in January 2025 during a songwriting session at the Tamworth Country Music Festival. Impressed by her songwriting and vocal sound, McMahon contacted her after the festival to collaborate on Let’s Get Crazy.

The single is part of McMahon's upcoming eighth solo album, slated for release in late August, which will showcase 11 tracks featuring a lineup of accomplished musicians, including Peter 'Maz' Maslen (drums), Jason Vorherr (bass and backing vocals), Simon Hosford (guitar), Danny Spencer (guitar), Jack Earle (keys), Luke Moller (fiddle and mandolin), Shane Riley (pedal steel), and Gretta Ziller (backing vocals).

McMahon's journey in the music industry has been marked by consistent growth and recognition. His previous album, As the Road Unfolds, debuted at #3 on the iTunes Country Albums Chart and #19 on the All Genres Albums Chart, underscoring his expanding influence in the country music scene. With Let’s Get Crazy, McMahon continues to push creative boundaries, blending genres and collaborating with emerging talents to deliver fresh and engaging music to his audience.
