CountryTown in partnership with iHeartCountry Australia is proud to announce all-female country/rock super band, Southbound as our Artist Of The Week.

Comprised of established solo artists Rachael Fahim and Missy Lancaster, along with exciting newcomers bassist Sarah Bernardo and lead guitarist Andrea Krakosvka, Southbound were one of the most exciting new acts in country music in Australia in 2020, scoring three top 10 singles and over 3.5 million streams of their music with their first three releases, Find Our Way featuring Shannon Noll, Drink and Get Drunk On Me

Their fourth single, This Is Us topped the Countrytown Music Network Hot 50 Country Airplay Chart for three consecutive weeks in a row. Written by Fahim, Lancaster, Ned Houston, and Robby De Sa (who also produced the track at Ralph Street Studios, Sydney Australia), the catchy track is all about feeling confident and fearless, and living in the moment.

Fahim says, This Is Us makes her “want to go out with her friends and make some memories. After all, after what we’ve all been through in the past 12 months, we’ve got a lot of making up to do!”

Bernardo adds, “This Is Us reminds me of when I would tell my parents I was going to a sleepover, but we were really just getting drunk in a field somewhere with all our mates. Sorry mum.”

Southbound plan to release their debut album in the second half of 2021.
