CountryTown is proud to announce Brooke McClymont & Adam Eckersley as our Artist Of The Week, following release of their latest single, Roll On Baby.

Brooke is one-third of the top-selling award-winning Australian country music trio, The McClymonts. With over 175k album sales, 2 x ARIA Awards, 11 x Golden Guitar Awards, 1 x CMA (USA) Award, 1 x APRA Award and 4 x #1 ARIA Country Albums, The McClymonts are a dominant female group in Australian Country Music with major success from hits such as Kick It Up, Wrapped Up Good and I’ve Got This.

Adam has won 2 Golden Guitar Awards – the first in 2015 for ‘New Talent of the Year’ and then in 2016 in the category ‘Group or Duo of the Year’ for his group the Adam Eckersley Band. The band’s debut album The First Album debuted Top 5 on ARIA Country Chart with The Second Album debuting #7 on the ARIA Country Chart. Adam was also recognised for his songwriting winning the APRA Award for ‘Country Work of the Year’ (2015) and an honourable mention in the International Songwriting Competition in 2014.

In 2018, they paired up to release their debut album as the duo, Adam & Brooke, which charted at #1 on the ARIA Country Album chart. It was later nominated for four Golden Guitar Awards and an ARIA Award.

Brooke recently placed second on this season of Network 10’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! Australia. As one of the show’s most adored contestants, Brooke won hearts on the show with her acoustic performance of their single, Star Of The Show, which reached #1 on the iTunes Single and Video Chart after the episode of Brooke performing it for her camp mates went to air. (We spoke to Brooke about the song and the series here).

Today, the couple release their new single, Roll On Baby. The song is a sign of the pair’s optimism – the content upbeat, the music itself a good time, and stylistically, it captures the middle ground between the pop-tinged country Brooke is known for, and the grittier side of the country track that Adam has made his own. Where a great deal of the songs on Adam & Brooke were love songs to each other, Roll On Baby is essentially, a love song to the music and the way of life the pair have known their entire adult lives.

Adam says, “The song pretty much says, we’ve made a life out of being full-time musicians, both of us, and we’ve realised how important that is… [the pandemic acted] as a great reminder of that, this is what we do. We didn’t want it to sound like either of our other projects too much… somewhere in the middle where we’re both satisfied and happy.

Brooke adds, “I do love the pop and Adam definitely has that ‘band’ side, and I really feel like this song, we’ve definitely found the sweet spot for both of us, that we’re comfortable and happy with.”

Both Star Of The Show and Roll On Baby comes from their forthcoming highly anticipated follow-up album. They will commence their Roll On Baby Australian Tour this February (for dates and ticket details – see here).
